Laser Alignment Tool

Posted by Nigel on September 16, 1998 at 15:49:48:

Wanted to give a plug to a gadget I have just bought. It is a laser alignment tool from Sound Alignment Systems. It consists of a small laser emitter in an aluminium housing which you use to align precisely the speakers in your home theater system. It has a flat piece at one end that you hold against the front of your speaker and the laser dot shows where the speaker points.

By eyeballing and measuring I thougt my speakers were toed-in by the same amount. The laser showed they were not (guess my room does not have 90 degree square corners). Adjusting with this gizmo made a noticeable difference. Also the top mounted tweeter on my LCR-30 center channel was pointing above ear level, even though it looked right. If anyone wants contact info please e-mail me (I left it at home).

I am not connected to this company in any way other than being a satisfied customer.
