: I'm using a regular audio cable just like I am for my analog connections (Rat Shack's best). It seems to work fine. Is this a 75 ohm cable or should I be using something else?

Problem is there is no standard impedance for audio cable - ie the resistance between the wires in the cable. For video and digital audio the impedance is standardised at 75ohms, so for the best results you should use a 75 ohm cable. A Rat Shack composite video cable (with the gold coloured connectors) should do just fine.
