Phil,

White noise is generally noise with equal weight versus frequency and is that pssst sound you hear when tuned to a non-channel or when the signal goes away.

The video, audio and color information are at different frequencies in a TV signal and filters are used to extract the information. If the video content affects the audio there may be something wrong with your receiver/tuner. If you have a VCR try using its' tuner and audio outputs instead of the TV.

Good Luck and Happy New Year, Don

: Is there a way to filter out the effect of white noise on tv signal? By this I mean when a music video is on and the scene changes to one with a large portion of the screen white there is alot of distortion in the audio. This happens with both the tv speakers and or the surround speakers.

: Another question what is the best way to multi split cable signal and loose the least quality.
