Could you advise what are those 'short-coming' you mentioned ?
Let me see if I can live with that or
should I go for the Mk2.

: I don't see a problem in using the RC2000 with your Pioneer DV-414 DVD player. The older Marantz remote was still an very good unit, just had some minor shortcomings.
