Dennis,

The Mk II version gains dedicated channel up/down buttons as well as other button/display refinements. Also the memory has been bumped up, it offers a confirmation beep and longer battery life. The early production RC2000s had a very short life - something I never complained about with mine, and had much to do with the automatic illumination which can be turned off.

Be prepared to learn how to program the remote - this will take time and patience but it can be done. OH, and yes you will need to read that thing called a "owners manual". You will find yourself keeping the Pioneer remote around for obscure settings.

Here is my suggestion... buy a original RC2000 (new old stock at a discount or used) and if you do not like it, there is a good market for them used. The going price on eBay is around $150ish - more for NOS, less for worn or less box.

: Thanks.
: Could you advise what are those 'short-coming' you mentioned ?
: Let me see if I can live with that or
: should I go for the Mk2.
