Serious problems with BOSE Lifestyle CD player Posted by Nigel Pond [SysOp] [IP: 206.241.18.4] on January 08, 1999 at 10:28:25: In Reply to: Serious problems with BOSE Lifestyle CD player posted by Bjorn Wanders on January 08, 1999 at 09:01:14: Bjorn Did Bose say that they would refund you directly or that they would reimburse the dealer for doing so? If the latter (which is usually the case) I would insist that the dealer honour what Bose has said and give you your money back. If they still refuse, take it up with Bose again. From my recollections of European law, before I moved to the US, retailers are obliged to refund you if a product is defective and cannot just offer you a store credit. I would check with your local citizens advice center or ombudsman (a great Swedish invention if I may say so) and find out exactly what your legal rights are. Often you will have greater rights under the law which the manufacturer or dealer cannot circumvent in their warranty. Sorry to ramble, but I hate to see consumers get shafted like this!!
