: The newest S-Link A1 is a real good system and I will enjoy any new stuff that has it.

How can you tell what has A1? I just got a S500D DVD player, and am in the market for a 50ES receiver and KV36XBR200 TV -- all new components.

Will they all be A1?

I also have a Sony VCR that's older -- don't know the model off the top of my head. If that's not A1, I could have serious problems trying to hook it in, yes?

My goal is to mount the XBR TV and hide the rest of the components in a wall cabinet -- I guess that actually raises my final question:

How long can the S-link cables be, and where can you get longer runs of them if special cabling or quality is required?
