where to hook up subwoofer Posted by Scott Avery [IP: 206.151.112.43] on January 28, 1999 at 00:18:26: In Reply to: where to hook up subwoofer posted by Mark Doyle on January 27, 1999 at 23:34:02: Does the Subwoofer have inputs and outputs on it? Does it havean RCA line level connection? If it has inputs and outputs, then you connect it to the front left and right channels (A) and then connect your front left and right speakers to the appropriate outputs on the subwoofer. This is a passive sub. If it has an RCA connection (or two) then you connect line level input to the sub. With one connection you probably want to use a "sub out" connection that should be clearly labeled on the receiver if it exists. With two connections I think you can use either the subout, as above, or you can hook in the same full range signal that you are connecting to the receiver. You may be able to do this by running it through a tape loop using the tape monitor feature of the receiver. (Or maybe not) Describe the types of connections on the sub and your receiver, and then someone on the forum will be able to tell you the right way to connect. Scott
