I'd IMMEDIATELY have your Entertainment Center's AC outlet(s) CHECKED FOR MISWIRING!

I'd also check for PROPER ELECTRICAL GROUNDING of the devices, as well as "ground loops" and similar electrical "naughties". Assuming the DSS was "correctly" installed, there should be ZERO "arcing, sparking, etc." 'tween shielded cables.

I'm betting on a MISWIRED outlet (i.e. reversed hot/neutral, missing ground wire, etc.) causing the "untimely death" of the DSS boxes. Check out my article on "Ground Loops" over in the main web area (www.smr-home-theatre.org) - it might give you some "insight", etc. :)
