: What's the best way to hook my Prologic receiver, VCR and projection TV together?

Easy.

Here's how you connect your incoming cable-TV to things:

cable TV --- splitter ---- TV
|
---------- VCR

Now, here's how you connect the TV and VCR to your stereo and TV:

RECEIVER
--------
TV ------ CD IN (L/R Audio)
VCR ------ VCR1 IN (L/R Audio)
|
---- TV "VIDEO IN"

In this way, you can RECORD ONE PROGRAM while watching another, the VCR can be watched on the "VIDEO IN" channel AND the audio from the TV and VCR will be "processed" by the receiver and "surround decoded" appropriately. IMPORTANT: DISABLE the TV's built-in speakers (i.e. volume all the way down OR just "shut off") so they won't "interfere" with the receiver's sound.

I've created a "simplified" A/V hookup diagram. Send me an E-mail and I'll reply with the .GIF attachment for you to view/print out. :)
