Home Theater hookup Posted by Ken Simmons [IP: 208.8.211.31] on January 28, 1999 at 19:09:33: In Reply to: Home Theater hookup posted by Dan Sequeira on January 28, 1999 at 10:14:22: : What's the best way to hook my Prologic receiver, VCR and projection TV together? Easy. Here's how you connect your incoming cable-TV to things: cable TV --- splitter ---- TV Now, here's how you connect the TV and VCR to your stereo and TV: RECEIVER In this way, you can RECORD ONE PROGRAM while watching another, the VCR can be watched on the "VIDEO IN" channel AND the audio from the TV and VCR will be "processed" by the receiver and "surround decoded" appropriately. IMPORTANT: DISABLE the TV's built-in speakers (i.e. volume all the way down OR just "shut off") so they won't "interfere" with the receiver's sound. I've created a "simplified" A/V hookup diagram. Send me an E-mail and I'll reply with the .GIF attachment for you to view/print out. :) Ken
