Repost your message with your room size, spending limit, viewing and listening material (action flics, classic music, etc.). You will find that speaker recommendations vary endlessly. If you give as specific criteria as possible, you may find someone who has dealt with a system similar to the one you would like to have. If you are interested in speakers, post your message in the Speaker forum (number 2 forum) with a title like "New to the game, What speakers do I need?" or "$1500 budget, what's the best for my setup..." You will be more likely to receive some helpful hints that way. Also, if you want some advice from the people who have listened to every speaker you can think of, go visit www.audioreview.com. They have an archive of reviews on speakers, receivers, processors, etc. The reviews are done by owners like you and me, so they are probably more truthful than others. Have a look!

Lots of luck, Ken!

: Future shop is closing its stores in Utah. I decided to buy a Home theatre reciver at their close out price (Harmon Kardon AVR 85 for $749). Now that I have the reciever I am clueless what to look for in a speaker system. I do not want to spend a fortune but would like to take advantage of the capabilities of the Receiver. Can anyone suggest what I need to look for in the way of a speaker system. I am a total novice. Please respond to my e-mail as well as this bulletin board. Many thanks!!!!
