Most likely the existing circuit had a faulty ground due to a weak point in the chain of outlets - you might want to address this for piece of mind as it indicates a possible house wiring problem, in particular you most likely have a bad ground connection at an outlet between your system and the service panel. In the meantime you need to connect your entire system to the dedicated line. Alan : I had my stereo setup running off of one 14ga 15amp circut. I decided to add a dedicated AC 20amp 12ga wire circut for my amps. When I did this I now get a hum from my speakers. When I plug everything into the old circut the hum disappears.
