Home Theatre Speakers

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 95):

I have a 60" Mitsubishi Big screen with surround sound capabilities and a dedicated subwoofer port. I also have a Dolby Pro-Logic receiver. Should I attach directly to the TV or use the receiver connected to the TV? What speakers and how many should I use. Can I use the speakers inherent to the TV and save some money?
