Bulding HT room - should it have a door? Just remember to COVER THE WALLS with "theater fabric" (i.e. dark-colored drapery) and make the curtain in front of the door THE SAME MATERISL you'll hang on your walls. : Finally, do something similar for the ceiling. : In this way, you'll minimize "reflections" (i.e. echoing) and the overall sound should be much more pleasing. I've also been thinking about this. Live end/dead end setups vs. other alternatives. What is this material you mentioned like? Does it go on the walls like wallpaper? Do you hang it pleated like curtains, or flat like a wall hanging? My Lexicon DC-1 manual suggests deadening the L/C/R (Front) end of the room by using some acoustically absorbing materials on the wall behind, and for a few feet on the walls to the sides, of the speakers. It sounds like a good idea to me. The geometry of the room precludes doing anything to the door, I think. Any ideas about where to find info on materials/techniques for doing this? Thanks for the tip. Brion Frost
