where is "how to build" coax cables? Posted by SMR [WizOp] [IP: 195.232.120.186] on February 07, 1999 at 14:59:13 In Reply to: where is posted by Ken Simmons on February 06, 1999 at 19:15:03: Ken, : What's the "material" difference 'tween "digital" and "analog" cable? Impedance, digital should be 75ohm, analogue cables can be all over the place. Bandwidth is another consideration, some esoteric analogue cables are unsuited to frequencies in the megahertz range. A Dolby Digital RF cable should be at least double screened to prevent contamination (either way) whereas analogue audio doesn't effect its surroundings. : And, you can always "go into business" making cables for friends, etc. and charge "an arm and a leg" for your "custom-brand, one-of-a-kind" interconnects.... ;> That has been done countless times, in fact it's probably the way most cable businesses started. Having said that, you'd give away your product to friends, not sell it. ;-)
