: Would anyone have an opinion as to whether a plain old DB-25 printer cable would do the trick?

I remember getting the pinout for those DB-25 "audio" cables. Assuming your receiver's connections use the same wiring, I think you can BUILD YOUR OWN cable using parts available at Radio Shack.

Just get 2ea DB-25 connectors (proper gender, of course), 2ea SHIELDED backshells, and a length if SHIELDED AUDIO CABLE. Measure the distance you're gonna route the cable, add 50%, then multiply the resulting length by SIX (?) or however many channels are being routed through the connector. Get that length of shielded wire and CONSTRUCT the cable yourself.

Total parts cost should be less than $10 and it shouldn't take more than a couple hours to build.

FWIW, here's a DB-25 interface pinout that I received last year:

Channel Signal Shield
------- ------ ------
Left Pin 1 Pin 14
Center Pin 2 Pin 15
Right Pin 3 Pin 16
Sub Pin 4 Pin 17
Sur/L Pin 5 Pin 18
Sur/R Pin 6 Pin 19

I think this will work for your application?

Good luck! :)

Ken
