At the risk of garnering the ire of the "purists", might I suggest the "Recoton" brand available at Future Shop and similar places.

I have one interfacing my DVD player to my TV and, to my eyeballs, it works great.

I THINK it only cost me $13(?) for a 6 foot cable. I don't have the receipt - it may've been cheaper....

Then, there's RADIO SHACK: #15-1510, $13.99 for a 6 foot S-video cable.

That's my few bytes... :)
