Last night on Screen Savers (ZD-TV), they said that Buy.Com was planning on offering the monitor at cost to the remaining 1500 or so people who purchased it. Not a bad consolation, depending on what their cost is I guess, but it seems to me that you have a good argument that they accepted your offer to purchase the item when they charged your credit card. On the other hand, they probably had some kind of a disclaimer on their web page where the monitor was advertised.

: Hmmm.... I just ordered a monitor from them. The monitor was $164 (19" hitachi superscan 753, normally $585.) They took the money off my card, gave me a receipt, sent me a confirmation, and are now trying to cancel the purchase. (Because they screwed up on the price.)
