S-Video to RGBHV encoder

Brian, as they say "I don't think the view would be worth the climb". Here's why: the native format for video on DVD is component video, which the DVD player downconverts into s-video. Transcoding that back up to RGB probably won't help much as introducing another conversion in the signal path is almost certain to leave you with a picture no better and maybe worse than s-video. Now if you could find out how to hack your DVD player so that it converts component to RGB internally (as do some players for the European market) that may help. Alternatively broadcast grade transcoders for s-video to RGB are available but they do not come cheap.
