marantz 2216b value Posted by Alan Maier[SysOp] on October 19, 1998 at 20:12:41: In Reply to: marantz 2216b value posted by kevin j. holland on October 19, 1998 at 01:00:39: Kevin, 1970's vintage blue dial Marantz receivers are bringing top dollar today - even the entry 2216b is worth roughly $75 give or take a bit. That is a lot for a 16w/ch receiver - yet a similar power Pioneer from the same era (say the 15w/ch SX-434) is bringing around $50 these days. The dial lights are 8 volt end cap lamps that are easy but time consuming to replace. Access is by removing the front panel (taking care not to scratch the aluminum around those hex head screws on the corners) and removing the plastic dial plate and a white panel behind it. There are 4 lamps as I recall for the dial plus one for each tuning meter (1 on the 2216??). The dial pointer and stereo lamp uses minature "wheat bulbs" and are soldered in. Alan : a woman heard the MARANTZ 2216b i inherited and decided she needed one. i told her it wasn't for sale. she said, "name your price". i am in hard financial times; so i decided that it depends on what the piece is worth. it's in very good shape (aside from the blue dial light, which only lights the center of the dial). please, what's a fair price? : thanks, : kjh
