A much cheaper alternative, is to consider the previous model, Onkyo 919 which has a DB25 connector for an external decoder. OneCall in Oregon, USA, (www.onecall.com) still has some of these and has a pretty good deal... a 919 with a Technics DD/DTS external decoder for less than US$1200. If you want a better decoder, it can be upgraded later!

The 919 is a pretty powerful monster, capable of providing both a great home theater experience and superb audio/musical quality.

Certainly worth considering... Ralph
