Speaker killing pet cat!!!

I have a 10 year old cat that I love dearly who will claw cloth speaker grills and foam surrounds of drivers. I am looking to buy some Infinity Overture 3 floor standing speakers but they will be demolished by my wonderful cat. I thought about putting them on stands when I buy them or looking into metal grills. Does anyone have any suggestions on stands for Overture 3's and/or metal grills for the speakers?
