Tadashi,

: I have a 10 year old cat that I love dearly who will claw cloth speaker grills and foam surrounds of drivers. I am looking to buy some Infinity Overture 3 floor standing speakers but they will be demolished by my wonderful cat.

I too have a lovely little cat and have found a way of stopping her scratching the fronts of loudspeakers. This is very important to me as I review 'speakers and they're everywhere - I doubt companies would be too happy if their samples were returned with clawed drivers.

What I did was give the cat her very own 'speaker to scratch. I found an old GEC in a second-hand shop for £5 and put it in her favourite scratching spot. She now always scratches that and none of the others. You can discourage scratching humanely by ringing a small bell - the type you would ring if you were Lord of the manner calling for your waiter to deliver dinner - whenever the cat looks to be approaching your precious transducers.

Stuart.
