You never mentioned whether you had a DVD or Laserdisc player. The diffence between a DVD in prologic and ac3 is pretty large. Stereo surrounds, better separation and deeper tighter bass.You better double check. Those model numbers you are talking about are at least a year or two old. I think the 2090 was only Dolby Digital ready. Is it 2092 instead? You need/want a receiver with a built in Dolby Digital decoder. I think Yamaha is coming out with new models. I think there new 995 even has DTS. You will be astounded when you hear the difference.
