I have eight (yikes!) original Aura Bass Shakers. I bought them for $25 a pair. Less than half the price of one Clark. The effect is great. I have four hooked up to each side of an old Nikko 300w/ch amp in a series-parallel arrangement to keep the impedance at 8 ohms. Two shakers on each sofa. Four shakers mounted on the underside of the sub-floor.

Observations:
1) Power is good. Started out with the recommended 25w/ch max for the Auras. Results...no action. With 300w/ch...I can feel the earth move. Corollary to power is good...control is necessary. You will NEED an amp with adjustable gain.
2) More is better. Started out with two Auras (one per couch). Found that when I turned up the gain enough to "feel" them that I could locate them (even though they were low passed at 80 Hz via the DC-1 sub out). Now with a ton of them I can keep the gain down but still move the earth.
I have "experienced" the Clark TTs. Unfortunately, IMHO, the same rules apply. You had best just cashed in your Microsoft shares if you are gonna buy eight Clarks.
3) Cross over as low as you can. This will minimize butt buzz and the talking butt effect which occurs when no crossover or a too high crossover is used. I could "feel" a very clear difference between the DC-1 80Hz, 100Hz, and 120Hz crossovers. It made me wonder just what my sub was doing (more about that during my weekly tirades for more crossover points for the DC-1).
4) Tactile Transducers are not a substitute for a good sub. However, they do make for much better late night listening when you have to turn the sub compression up. My late night set-up is to power down my Snell SUB1800 (powered by a 600w mono Carver) and leave the Auras running at full blast. Loses some realism for sure but better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Try it. You'll like it.
