Modulating: Trouble with Digital inputs

Currently, we have the analog audio outs from the components (DVD, DSS)connected to the inputs of a Channel Plus 5435 3-channel digital modulator. Digital outs are being run from the components to the digital in's on the DSP-A1. The audio is coming out fine thru the CATV coax (because we are running the analog out's to the Channel Plus). However, we need the ability to connect Tape 1/MD to an external Amp (to pass analog signals from these components), which will be amplifying the in wall speakers in multiple rooms. However, since the analog outs from the components are currently connected to the Channel Plus, we can't run them to the analog in's on the DSP-A1, making it impossible to channel the analog signals out of Tape 1/MD thus to the external amplifier. My installer is suggesting that there is another Channel Plus modulator that makes it possible to feed the analog signals out so we have something to connect to the analog in's on the DSP-A1. Then we will have the ability to send those signals out of Tape1/MD. Hopefully, this will solve the problem. I don't know too much about modulating, but this guy apparently does.
