Splicing speaker wire

Unless the "repair" is made with COMPRESSION-TYPE (i.e. CRIMP!) splices, the quality and durability of the "repair" won't be there.

I advise you get yourself a supply of AUTOMOTOVE (barrel) crimp splices, a decent crimper, and DO THE JOB YOURSELF!

FWIW, Radio Shack sells this kind of kit: #64-409, $12.99. You'll also have to get a supply of splices: #64-3037, $1.49 (5 reds, 5 blues - use the REDS!). Your local HARDWARE and AUTO SHOPS also sell these kind of kits and splices - make sure the crimper is BEEFY (i.e. 3/32" thick metal!).
