You're welcome.

Todays equipment, especially receivers, require as much "breathing room" as you can give them. That's why I suggested the separate cabinet.

Therefore, there's "nothing stopping you" from "cramming" everything in your TV stand. HOWEVER, there's the "breathing room" issue to deal with. Yes, you can install exhaust fans in the cabinet BUT that's at the cost of increased "background noise" (i.e. continuous "WHIRRRRRRRRR!") and the SMALLER the cabinet, the LOUDER the "whir" will be (multiplied by the NUMBER of fans, too!).

With that typed, if you do try your TV stand, put the receiver ON THE TOP SHELF, ensuring there's 3-4" of space above it, the DVD on the BOTTOM, and the VCR on top of it (if only one shelf, containing the receiver) or on the shelf above (make sure there's 1-2" of space above it). Ensure the TV stand HAS NO BACK, or at least no "back" BEHIND THE RECEIVER, to ensure convection air flow. Finally, "dress" the cables (AC cords AWAY FROM signal interconnects!) so they don't impede any convection paths out the back.

Good luck. :)

Ken
