surround sound speaker placement

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 95):

I am presently building a house an plan to install a surround sound system. The room is approximately 17wx20d. It has a cathedral ceilling and a 6 inch sunken floor. There is a fire place centered on the back wall with the entertainmenet center positioned on the left side as you enter. The sitting area will be from left center to left wall which is solid from front to back. The right wall has an opening of approximately 5 feet leading into the kitchen. The front entrance has an arched opening.
