maxell or tdk who makes a better blank tape.

For AUDIO applications: TDK-SA CrO2 (chromium dioxide) is the "industry standard". Maxell CrO2 tapes are also very good.

I, personally, prefer the TDK's. :)

For VIDEO: I use "the cheap" TDK (i.e. 10/$12 at Costco). Of course, my video needs are "non-critical" and these tapes are VERY GOOD, even at SLP (6-hour). :)
