Picture problem on TV

Posted by John Sheehan [IP: 216.154.28.65] on September 25, 1999 at 19:43:12
Using Mozilla/4.08 [en] (Win95; U ;Nav):

When viewing a movie, using my VCR,I get a white area on the bottom left corner of the screen.I have a 35" Sony TV 'V' series.I thought at first that it was a problem with my VCR,which is a Hitachi, but as I also had other problems with this VCR, I recently replaced it with a Sony model. The same problem is showing up again. This 'white area' is not visible when watching a regular TV program. The TV is less than a year old and the best way I can descibe this white area, is that it looks like someboby is shining a small flashlight at the the screen. It is not a reflection from anything in the room as I have checked that out already. This problem does not occur with every movie I watch, just about about 50% or so. Any ideas would be appreciated.I realise that the TV is still under warranty but this little annoyance is slight (except to me) and would probably not occur as soon as I call a service man. Any ideas?
Thanks, John S.
