What makes a "good" VHS tape

Posted by Dan [IP: 216.154.29.219] on September 26, 1999 at 23:51:30
Using Mozilla/4.5 [en] (Win95; U):

Just wondering what is it that makes a blank VHS tape good. Are "good" tapes the ones where you can record (say on SP)over and over again without to much quality loss? Or is it a tape that captures more info in terms of video or audio compared to a cheaper one? Just wondering if the price differece in tapes are worth paying for when you use them to record stuff from the TV when you're not home.
Can someone shed some light?

Thanks
