Thanks for the response.

I live in the bay area in No. California and we have TCI (a.k.a. ATT) cable.

It seems to me, and I must say that my hearing is far from perfect, that it occurs at different times (day & hour) but is as bad on any channel as it is on local channel 5 (CBS). I don’t watch the USA channel much, so I can’t comment on it.

So if I can hear a high pitch whistle or squeal, the neighbors probably can too...and from my TV. I don’t want to go to any great lengths if the solution isn’t probable. But if you recommend making an isolator, I may try it. Since the sound is variable, as to time and loudness, it most likely is “in” the incoming signal. Maybe since ATT has taken over, things at the cable company will change…

So, if I understand your answer, there may be no simple solution. Since the whistle may be a defect in the incoming signal, it will be impossible to remove. Well, if I discover a clever solution, I’ll let you know.
