That's correct. Even though cable-TV distribution, etc. has improved over the years, there are a number of "flaws" in the whole system directly tied to the "medium of transmission" (i.e. the cable). Also, most (if not all) cable companies derive their INITIAL SIGNAL from satellite downlinks, and those downlinks can have problems due to atmospheric and solar phenomena (i.e. clouds, ionospheric interference, solar flares, etc.). Finally, I understand we're in a PEAK PERIOD of solar activity (or at least on the "trailing edge") and until Ol' Sol "calms down", there's not a lot we can do.

That's the best I can offer. In no way do I pretend to be an "absolute authority" on these things, so please accept my apologies if I seem "dim"... ;)
