I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing. What I found worked well was to drill the hole in the wall where I wanted to feed the wire through and also drill a hole through the bottom of the wall via my crawlspace (wouldn't you know it...the place where I wanted to drill from below was right smack between two air ducts..very tight work). I then took a long piece of string and weighted it in the middle with a small enough object that it would fit throught the hole. Then I fed the string through the upper hole while holding on to both ends of the string. I got my girlfriend to hold both ends while I fished for the loop from below using a coathanger. After I got the string, I just tied the speaker wire to the string and pulled it through. Worked like a charm and didn't cost me a cent.
