HELP!! running in-wall speaker wire

May I suggest a "non-destructive" alternative: SURFACE-MOUNT PLASTIC CHANNELING! This stuff, available at your local Home depot (or similar) consists of 6' lengths of (approx) 1/2" dia. locking channel with a self-adhesive baking. You also need "couplers (provided by the same company) for joining channels and going around corners. Just place the channels near the floor/baseboard, put thewire in the channels, and snap them closed. The adhesive is pretty tough, but you can use "nail clips" or similar fasteners to give it "extra adhesion". The snap-lock is REAL TOUGH TOO - it CAN NOT be easily opened, even by a "determined" toddler. Plus, the color is a fairly "neutral" beige/buff color, so it shouldn't be too obtrusive. HOWEVER, the stuf isn't cheap - Around $12 (as I recall) for a "kit" with three (3) channels and a couple couplers. The "elbows" (inside and outside corners) and "tees" (for running up a wall) are separate animals ($2 each?). However, if you don't want a lot of sheet-rock dust generated AND run the risk of "losing" your wire in the wall, this might be a very viable method. Plus, it'll also protect the wires from other sorts of "gnawing" animals (i.e. cats, puppies). Hope this helps a little. :) Ken
