audio vs. video cable
Posted by Eric Elliott [IP: 161.80.109.123] on October 15, 1999 at 15:46:47 I purchased a pair of interconnects from Radio Shack to use for audio; however, after looking closely I realized I purchased what was an audio/video pair (i.e., one cable color-coded white, one coded yellow), I think made for a mono-audio signal and a video signal. The cables and RCA connectors are otherwise identifical looking. Can I still use this as an audio pair of interconnects, or is there something inherent about an RCA video cable (e.g., impedance) that makes it unsuitable for audio? I should note that I'm not using this in a critical listening part of the system (it's for my cassette deck, which I only use to make tapes for my car or the walkman).
