audio vs. video cable

Eric, the problem will be that the two cables may have different characteristics: composite video cable has a set specification (75 ohms impedance and shielded), whereas there are no set specs for analogue audio cables. So using the audio cable for your right channel and the video for your left, for example, it is possible that the different charateristics will affect the way that each channel sounds.

Having said that, it all depends how revealing your system is, as to whether you would notice the difference. My advice would be to take them back and get a left and right audio pair, just to be sure...
