What do you mean by "three prong plugs"? please provide a diagram. I'm wondering if they're "DIN" interfaces that combine BOTH input and output capabilities (i.e. one pin for in, one pin for out, last pin for common ground).

I strongly suggest you visit Sony's web site (www.sony.com) or contact a local Authorised Sony Repaire Shoppe, providing them the model number of your TV - they should be able to answer your questions.
