Wouldn't this be contradictory for Blockbuster ? It seems to me that DiVix's own-to-rent model is at odds with a business who's livelihood depends upon the traditional rental model that brings customers back again and again every two days or so.

If, as Divix supporters would hope, this becomes the dominant way in which consumers watch movies on home video, outfits like Blockbuster would see less and less floor traffic, as customers come in only to make their one time "purchase" of a movie title. I'm no business genius, but it doesn't take a genius of any sort to figure out this is not a recipe for revenue growth !

I hope this is not true. I thought Blockbuster was on our side ( Open DVD )when they announced a nationwide campaign to rent DVD.
