As the owner of the 3 chip DCR-TRV900 and couldn't be happier, I just bought the DCR-TR7000 Digital8 and I must say that I am amazed with the overall quality of the recordings. It will also play my SP and LP 8mm tapes very well. The 20X optical zoom is nice but it does not have Super Steady shot just reg Steady Shot. The camera is a real bargin too. To my door for $699. Put on a NP-750 and you get a reading while recording that you have 384 min left.COOL low power consumtion. I think SONY has a real winner with these new cameras. I would like to try the DCR-TRV510 with the 4" LCD, The perfect travel cam, Record all your stuff Digitaly and them pop in a couple Hi8 LP movies for the flight home. I want one
