Univ. Remotes: Pronto vs. HK Take Control

After 20 years of push button remotes, I have yet to get used to the loss of tactile response on these new touchscreen ones. Very often, I operate a remote without looking at it. You can feel your way around it. I operate my VCR's controls and DVD transport without glancing at it. I can also use the numerical keyboard by feeling my way around it after I get my initial bearing. With a touchscreen, I always have to look at it. Also, having the "click" feeling is important. You *know* you pressed it. I own an RC2000Mk2 and SL9000. Even the RC2000MK2's soft keys are navigatable by feel. It's just that their meaning changes by device mode. But once I know which device is activated, I know that the bottom right button is my VCR slow, second from the bottom is 1/2 speed, third is x2 speed. I can feel these out even in the darkest room. I am not convinced the touchscreen remotes are the answer. the best thing would be a mix of the two. Half touchscreen and a whole set of hard keys (like the Marantz) and a small touch screen that's programmable.
