Remote speakers - 'snap' sounds

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 95; CNETHomeBuild03171999):

Hi all,
I have a single remote Peavey spkr connected near the rear of a medium-sized hall.
HOWEVER, it produces snap sounds when I turned on/off lights/fans in nearby power sockets. I've chked the earthing, done properly already. The main system spkrs don't have this problem when these lights/fans turned on/off.
Can anyone kindly advice?

THANKS A LOT in advance!
~Daniel
