Optimizing connection from CD player to SBLive!

Reto, first I have no direct experience of the Live card so this advice may be of no use, but that's never stopped me before!!

Does the card have a digital audio input and your cd player a digital output? If so you would be much better of connecting them using a digital connection. (If the input and output are in different formats, you can get a converter...see link below).

If you have to use the analogue, line level method, then you can change the input level by using the advanced volume controls in Win 95/98 - right click on the speaker in the system tray, select volume controls. If the line-in slider is not in the panel that comes up, select options->advanced, then you should see it.
