The SBLive! does have a digital input, but I beleive it not accessible on the outside of the card. It is meant as a digital connection between a cd-rom in your computer, and the internal connection of the card. This is of course, if your cd-rom has the capablity for digital audio extraction.

This is the way I have my cd-rom and my SB Live! hooked up and it sounds great, with no audible distortion.
