DSS receiver-Ac3

Using Mozilla/4.51 [en] (Win95; U):

I am confused as to what type of dss receiver I need. I have a Kenwood 1090vr receiver which should decode the ac3 signal. Will any dss receiver work for this? I see that some of the dss receivers are quite expensive is this because they have the decoders built in and the other ones don't? I just want to get something more than prologic only. I don't want to buy the expensive dss receiver if what it comes with my home receiver will do! What do I need for AC-3?
