I'm not sure if you're referring to digital cable or not, but I have it, and the reciever we got, has digital outs for Digital Dolby (although we don't have a DD decoder yet), and S-VHS outputs for video. (As well as a number of other unknown and unnamed outputs at well). We found picture quality to be better than standard cable. Never tried sat so I can't comment on that.
