The main issue (at the framing stage) is to design the three dimensions so there are no common multiples (to minimize standing waves) Assuming an 8 foot ceiling, then 8 x 13 x 23 would be better than say 8 x 16 x 20. You might check around on www.dolby.com. Seems to me I've read a few articles on the net somewhere about HT room construction. They suggest non parallel walls wherever possible, lots of soft coverings, and double drywall to deaden noise around the rest of the house. Have fun.
