Coaxial digital or Optical digital?

technically, I would say go for coax. The simple reason is that the signal run will be purer. Not only that, but you have a wider choice of cables to use. The fact is this: all digital signals START OUT as electrical signals. Now, if those signals are routed through a toslink connector they must first be converted to optical signals. A process which must be repeated in reverse once the signal reaches it's destination. A coaxial digital cable uses the signal as it is, so to speak, and doesn't perform any conversions on it, therefore leaving the signal as 'true-to-form' as possible. Hope that helps.
