Im not sure it has anything to do with looks. The assumption is that everybody is greedy and is waiting for an oppertunity to jump on a good deal on stolen goods. I guess who ever buys them deserves what they get.

Like you, I too was offended. Ive actually been approached 3 times over the years. The first time had to have been at least 8 years ago. Most recently, I was approached while waiting in line at a fast-food drive-thru.
